Bien s\u00fbr son aire de r\u00e9partition est plus vaste&nbsp;: on le trouve en Europe (notamment Europe m\u00e9ridionale) et en Am\u00e9rique du Nord. Ces deux populations sont migratrices et en hiver vont respectivement en Afrique subsaharienne, Oc\u00e9anie et Asie tropicale et en Am\u00e9rique centrale et Antilles. On retrouve \u00e9galement cette esp\u00e8ce partout en Floride toute l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Plegadis falcinellus<\/strong><\/em> est la seule esp\u00e8ce du genre <em><strong>Plegadis<\/strong><\/em>.<img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-835 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/wildtravel.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/cddd_0.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"264\" height=\"330\"><\/p>\n<p>Il niche dans les arbres, les arbustes de saules ou de roseaux dans le lit mixte colonie, souvent avec d&rsquo;autres h\u00e9rons, spatules et cormorans. L&rsquo;ibis construit un nid \u00e0 partir de fines branches. Entre mai et juillet la femelle pond 3 ou 4 \u0153ufs d&rsquo;un profond gris-bleu (1 nidification par an). L&rsquo;incubation dure 3 semaines. Les petits ne peuvent pas voler pendant un mois et demi. Ceux qui ont quitt\u00e9 le nid et vivent en groupes sont nourris en commun par tous les adultes. G\u00e9roudet a fait \u00e9tat d&rsquo;une colonie de pr\u00e8s de 500 couples de 60 ans dans leDelta du Danube, des zones humides d&rsquo;importance internationale, est un bastion de l&rsquo;esp\u00e8ce avec plusieurs milliers de couples. Toutefois, cette population est en d\u00e9clin comme la r\u00e9gion de la mer Caspienne et la mer Noire demeure.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;Ibis falcinelle b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d&rsquo;une protection totale sur le territoire fran\u00e7ais depuis l&rsquo;arr\u00eat\u00e9 minist\u00e9riel du 17 avril 1981 relatif aux oiseaux prot\u00e9g\u00e9s sur l&rsquo;ensemble du territoire. Il est inscrit \u00e0 l&rsquo;annexe I de la directive Oiseaux de l&rsquo;Union europ\u00e9enne. Il est donc interdit de le d\u00e9truire, le mutiler, le capturer ou l&rsquo;enlever, de le perturber intentionnellement ou de le naturaliser, ainsi que de d\u00e9truire ou enlever les oeufs et les nids et de d\u00e9truire, alt\u00e9rer ou d\u00e9grader leur milieu.
