Unter den Finken zeigt er das ausgepr\u00e4gteste Zugverhalten.<\/p>\n<p>Der Bergfink ist mit 15 cm K\u00f6rperl\u00e4nge ein etwa sperlingsgro\u00dfer Fink. Im Winterhalbjahr zeigt der m\u00e4nnliche Bergfink einen br\u00e4unlichgrau gefiederten Kopf, Nacken und Vorderr\u00fccken. Im Sommerhalbjahr sind diese dagegen schwarz. Brust und Schulterfleck sind orangefarben gefiedert. Am unteren Schwanz sowie am Bauch und an der Hinterbrust befindet sich wei\u00dfes Gefieder.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Das Weibchen ist deutlich schlichter gef\u00e4rbt. Es hat einen br\u00e4unlichen Kopf, bei dem sich dunkle Streifen auf dem Oberkopf befinden. Braun gefleckt ist auch der R\u00fccken, und die Brust ist deutlich matter orange gef\u00e4rbt als die des M\u00e4nnchens.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c4hnlich wie der Buchfink lebt der Bergfink w\u00e4hrend der Sommerzeit von <a class=\"mw-redirect\" title=\"Insekt\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Insekt\">Insekten<\/a> und <a title=\"Wirbellose\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wirbellose\">Wirbellosen<\/a>. Im Winterhalbjahr frisst er vor allem S\u00e4mereien, wobei <a title=\"Buchecker\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Buchecker\">Bucheckern<\/a> darunter einen gro\u00dfen Anteil ausmachen.<\/p>\n<p>Seit 1593 bis zum Verbot der <a title=\"Vogeljagd\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vogeljagd\">Vogeljagd<\/a> 1908 wurde in der <a title=\"Pfalz (Region)\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pfalz_%28Region%29\">S\u00fcdpfalz<\/a> des nachts Jagd auf Bergfinken mit Hilfe von Blasrohren und Tonkugeln gemacht. Die Tiere sollen dicht nebeneinander auf den Zweigen der Kiefern und Fichten gesessen haben. Wurde ein Vogel vom Baum geschossen, so sollen die anderen Tiere wieder zusammenger\u00fcckt sein um die L\u00fccke zu schlie\u00dfen. Somit waren die Bergfinken leichte Beute.<\/p>\n<p>In der S\u00fcdpfalz wird der Bergfink auch <em>B\u00f6h\u00e4mmer<\/em> oder <em>Behemmer<\/em> genannt.
